What is Induction Heating?
Induction heating is the process of heating an metal object by electromagnetic induction. An important feature of the induction heating process is unlike resistance heating that the heat is generated inside the object itself, meaning that the object will heat up a lot quicker.
Pre - Heating / Post - Weld
Induction heating is great for Pre - weld and Post - weld heat treatment. The heating cables stay cool because they are liquid cooled. This is creates a great working environment for the welder. Induction heating has a quick set up time and heats up quickly. It is very efficient for heating up bigger jobs. With the heating cables they can be placed in special shapes for all different types of jobs and can be placed in neat coils for pipes.
Rolling Induction
Here at LD Technical Services we provide rolling induction. This is a way of providing fast and consistent heating on rotating objects. Using rolling induction is cost - effective and simple. Rolling induction can be the perfect choice for machine welding on bigger pipes and vessels. We use a special type of thermocouple which has been designed to control the temperature while the metal is rotating.
